The Roman Road Salvation Message

I was amazed upon listening to a teaching titled The Roman Road. This teaching provides a practical way to share the good news of the gospel. Wonderful tool for those who want to share the salvation message but are unsure of how to go about it. The Roman Road gives scripture verses that lay out God’s plan for salvation. The verses are systematically laid out to explain the message of salvation.

Let’s start with Romans 1:16.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Gentiles).

Whether we’re Jews or Gentiles, this promise is for all whom choose to believe in Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:23 tells us:

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

At birth, we come into the world as sinners. None of us are born righteous, no not one. Thus, the salvation message is for all of us. Through God; we become righteous.

Romans 6:23 says: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Yes, the wages of sin is death. That’s serious business. Yet; we are given hope. And it comes after the word but. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. That’s really good news!

God truly loves us. Just read what is written in Romans 5:8: But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Yes; that right. God’s only Son, Jesus, willingly died on the cross and paid the ultimate price, so we could be free from sin.

There’s more good news. God provided a way for everyone to be saved. It’s found in Romans 10:13. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Since we know we are sinners; we can come boldly to the throne of grace and repent. Tell God we are truly sorry for our sins. And ask His forgiveness of them. Be encouraged – sin is sin – none is greater than the other. God is Love and will meet us wherever we are. Let’s go a step further, and tell God that from this day forward, we will walk in His ways and not the world’s.

Romans 10:9 shows us what to do next.

“that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

By confessing with our mouth, we are declaring out loud what we have come to believe Jesus is Lord, and through faith in Him we are saved. And given God’s gift of eternal life. Imagine spending eternity with God in heaven forever!

The Bible tells us that salvation and eternal life can only come through faith in Jesus Christ. How do we maintain and elevate our faith? The answer is found in Romans 10:17: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

That’s why daily Bible reading is so important. God has also anointed and gifted Christian men and woman to share the gospel in various means. I’m an avid reader. My faith is elevated through books written by Christian authors. Along with my Bible; I’m currently reading a daily devotional, Fresh Manna, written by Gary V. Johnson. Yes; along with physical food; we need spiritual food that comes from God’s Word to sustain us on a daily basis.

I pray The Roman Road Salvation Message touches your heart. Whether you receive it for yourself, or use it to lead others to salvation. Lives are changed for the better. Praise the Lord!
