This morning, I chose to focus my Bible reading on faith. I’m very blessed to have a study Bible that includes a Topical Index in the back of it. Under Faith, are 28 scriptures and the page number where to find them, along with a teaching on what the verse(s) mean and how to apply them to my life. After reading and studying all these teachings on faith, I’m anticipating that my faith level will grow to a whole new level. Hallelujah!
I selected Mark 11:22 as the basis for this blog post. It says, Jesus answered them. “Have faith in God.”
Jesus is commanding His disciples, and those of us reading His Word, to do what He asks. He is reiterating what is available to us.
How do we get God’s faith? A measure of faith, the size of God’s own faith, gets placed inside of us when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and by the grace of the Holy Spirit we become born again. We are no longer operating on our own natural faith. God is making HIS FAITH available to us. And Jesus tells in Luke 1:27, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.”
When we have the God kind of faith operating in us, nothing will be impossible. Jesus tells us in Mark 11:23-25 how to activate God’s faith. “For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them. And when you stand praying, forgive if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven may also forgive you your sins. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive yours sins.”
God gives us His Faith, but He won’t do the believing for us. No, He tells us that we have the capability to move our own mountains (problems). And He tells us how: Pray, Believe, Receive, and Forgive. Is it truly that simple? It has to be if God Himself is the One telling us how to activate the God kind of faith. I’ve been a born-again Christian for years now; this post serves to remind me of His amazing truth.
Do you have a mountain in your life that need to be moved? I love what is written in Zechariah 4:7, “Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will be made level ground.” Yes, we can apply this verse to our own lives. We can command the mountain of sickness, mountain of debt, or whatever the mountain represents in your life, to be flattened and gone in Jesus’ Name.
When we have the faith of God in our hearts, and His Words in our mouths, no mountain of any kind can stand in our way. This is good news dear readers!
I pray this Blog post today encourages you to do your own Bible study of faith. That God will open your eyes to see, your ears to hear, and your heart to understand that with the God kind of faith inside of you, nothing will be impossible from this day forward. Amen
