God’s Waiting Room

We know from experience God can answer a prayer quickly, and how we love it when that happens. But there are times when He doesn’t answer quickly, and we’re left waiting, sometimes for long periods of time. Whether we like it or not, we’re in God’s waiting room, and He has a purpose for having us wait there.

Believe What Is Written In God’s Word

Choose to believe what God says in His Word, and trust the answer will come in God’s time, not ours. Let’s read God’s promises found in Scripture that He hears our prayers:

The Lord has heard my cry for help; the Lord will answer my prayer. Psalm 6:9 (NCV))

Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. Isaiah 65:24 (NIV)

Then you will call upon Me and you shall come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:12 (MEV)

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him. I John 5:14-15 (NIV)

Now that we know God promises to hear our prayers, let’s read what the Bible says about our waiting on the Lord:

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14 (NIV)

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. Psalm 130:5 (NIV)

“Therefore I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me. Micah 7:7 (NIV)

Don’t Give Up!

Regardless of how long we stay in God’s waiting room, we can trust that He is working on our behalf. Much happens in the spiritual realm that we cannot see. If we don’t give up, we shall reap the reward of receiving what we’re believing for in prayer. Hang on to the truth found in God’s Word and He will bring to pass. God’s Word is truth and He never changes. God is never too early, or too late. His timing is always perfect.

God’s Waiting Room Is Always Open

God’s waiting room is always open. We can go there anytime and talk with Him. He loves to spend time with us, and appreciates hearing us give thanks for how He answers our prayers. God’s waiting room allows us to draw closer to Him in ways we never conceived possible. His answer to our prayer may not come in the way we expected, but far better than we imagined.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the times You choose to have me wait. There is a purpose for it, even when I don’t understand. When I draw close to You in God’s waiting room, I’ll see answers to my prayers unfold in ways I never thought possible. Thank You Jesus for keeping God’s waiting room always open, for times I just want to talk and spend time with You.
