Pastor Kimberly Jones was a guest on the Life Today program. After hearing her speak about her life, and new book, You Gotta Get Up, I purchased it. I believed there was something in it that I needed to discover for myself. Is there something from my past that I need to totally let go of? I’m hoped by reading what is shared in You Gotta Get Up would be revealed to me. I don’t want anything to hinder God’s great plan for my life.
I’m enjoyed this book. The author has a way of drawing her readers in. I love quotes. Below the title of Chapter 1 – Choose Your Hard, the author wrote Your life doesn’t get better by chance, it gets better by change!
Yes, that has proven to be true in my own life. Pastor Kim has come a long way to where she is today. Kudos to her for showing others how to make positive changes in their lives too.
I found the best piece of advice in Chapter 4. “You can continually allow your past to dictate your present and your future, or you can determine it’s a new season, a new day.” Oh my, I’m ready to embrace the season I’m in, and allow God to work out the plan He has for my life. The past is gone, I want to enjoy the present and whatever God has planned for my future.
This book is just what I needed. Pastor Kim is living proof how God will transform the heart and soul of the person desiring change in their life, and for the better. Pastor Kim has well-chosen scripture verses throughout the chapters, plus a Declaration and Prayer at the end. She includes short testimonies from those encouraged by Pastor Kim and the Inner Circle group. The Lord is fulfilling His purpose for her, and I know He will do the same for me, and anyone else wanting God’s best for their lives.
This book has the potential to change lives and for the better. Pastor Kim openly shares what caused her to stay stuck where she was and how the You Gotta Get Up attitude pushed her forward. Chapter 10 is titled, How Bad Do You Want It? Yes, change is possible when we become willing to do what it takes to make it happen. It’s clear Pastor Kim loves to help people become all God destined them to be.
Her message for her readers is: the pain might not be our fault, but the healing is our responsibility. This book is a must for anyone wanting to move forward but doesn’t know how or where to begin. It’s written by someone who has worked very hard to get to where she is today, and has the desire to help others in their journeys to become all God destined them to be. And those whom lost hope, will find hope again! Praise the Lord
