While visiting a friend one day, we discussed the topic of death. I asked her if she feared death. She said, “No, I’m not afraid of dying, but how it will happen.” Her reply was honest and sincere. When her time came, she was surrounded by her family, and died peacefully in her husband’s arms. She was a born-again Christian and fully trusted in the Lord. When she got saved, she knew the promise of eternal life spoken of in the Bible belonged to her. That her name was written in the Lamb’s book of life.
The Bible says that upon death, we will be absent from our bodies and be in the presence of the Lord. Before anyone enters heaven, God will check the Lamb’s book of life. Revelation 21:27 says, “Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Those whose names are written in that book will spend eternity in heaven, where there will be no pain or sorrow, sickness or disease, and no tears will fill their eyes again. Nothing they’ve read or heard about the heaven’s beauty will compare to seeing it for themselves.
God wants all His children to spend eternity in heaven with Him. He wants all their names written in the Lamb’s book of life. John 3:16-17 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
God allows us to choose for ourselves where we’ll spend eternity. He won’t force it on us. The Bible tells us what we must do to receive salvation and be born again, with the promise of eternal life in heaven.
- Admit that we are sinners in need of a Savior. Ask the Lord to forgive us of our sins.
- Believe in our hearts and confess with our mouth, Jesus is Lord, and that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.
- Invite Jesus into our hearts and be Lord over our lives.
Christians do not have to fear death, regardless of how it occurs. What a glorious day it will be, knowing with certainty that our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. We’ll spend eternity in heaven with Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
If you would like to ensure your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life, but not sure what to say, here’s a prayer to help you.
Heavenly Father, I am a sinner In need of a Savior. Please forgive me of my sins. Your Word says if I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is Your Son, that You raised Him from the dead, I will be saved. Jesus, I invite You into my heart, to be Lord over my life, and to do something with it. I can say with confidence; I’m a saved, born-again Christian, and my name is written in the Lamb’s book of life. I’ll spend eternity in heaven with You. Praise the Lord!
Welcome to the family of God. I encourage to read your Bible daily and find a church that boldly preaches the truth found in the Bible. God’s plan is for us to stay connected with other believers, to love, encourage, and support one another in our Christian walk.
You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but Ifid this topic to be
really something which I think I would never understand.
It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
I’m lookking forard for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang
of it! https://evolution.org.ua/
I pray that what appears to be complicated will become easier for you to understand. Thank you for reading my post and leaving a comment. Blessings, Anne-Marie
