God’s Name Is Lord – The Great Jehovah!

When we read Exodus 3:15; we see that God is to be called Lord, which is His Name for all generations. Throughout the Bible we see various names that refer to God. All these names represent God’s covenant promises that He swore by Himself  as God Almighty starting with Abraham (Genesis 17:7) that continues today for those who believe in His Son, Jesus Christ.

God made Himself to be all and everything we will ever need in this life. Along with His name, He gave us His righteousness, His authority, along with weapons and armor. He gave us His blood, His wisdom and peace of mind. To top that off, He made us joint heirs with Jesus so we are seated together with Him in heavenly places.

Let’s look at these covenant names and the promise associated with them, and where they are found in the Bible:

Jehovah Raah – The Lord is our Shepherd (Psalm 23; John 10: 11, 14) – God is the one Who daily leads and guide us.

Jehovah Rapha – The Lord our Healer – The Great Physician (Exodus 15:26; Isaiah 53:4-5; I Peter 2:24) – By His stripes we were and are healed. Our healing is an accomplished fact, fully paid for on the Cross.

Jehovah Shalom – The Lord our Peace (Psalm 29:11; Isaiah 53:5; Ephesians 2:14) God will bless His people with peace. Praise His holy Name.

Jehovah Saboath – The Lord of Hosts, God Almighty – the God of the armies of Israel (I Samuel 17:45; Isaiah 6:3; 2 Corinthians 6:18) Our Almighty God is sovereign over all the powers of the universe.

Jehovah Tsidkenu – The Lord our Righteousness (Genesis 15:6; Jeremiah 23:6; 1 Corinthians 1:30) God is holy, righteous, and of good character. When we accept Jesus into our lives, we become holy and righteous too.

Jehovah Jireh – The Lord will Provide (Genesis 22:14; Philippines 4:19) The Lord will provide for our every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Jehovah Shammah – the Lord is There (Genesis 28:15; Matthew 28:20) God will never leave us; He promises to be with us to the end of the earth.

Our Jehovah God will keep His Word because He cannot lie. It is not in His character to do so, ever! The Bible is filled with over 7000 promises, so the answer to whatever we are in need of, are found in God’s covenant names and His promises.

Thank You Lord for being my God All Mighty, and for the covenant promises You provide in the Bible. Amen
