Do you still have your first Bible? The first Bible I purchased was a New Century Version (NCV) and I loved it, because it was easy for me to understand. Eventually I had to replace it because the spine simply fell apart from so much use. I’ll never part with that Bible because it serves as a reminder of where I was when I began my walk with the Lord. Verse upon verse is underlined in that Bible along with personal notes written in the margins. The Lord met me where I was but didn’t leave me there. Through His Word, I was able to grow and learn and begin the process of becoming the woman He destined me to be. I don’t believe His plans are all fulfilled yet; so I have lots to look forward to in the days to come.
One morning I came across Psalm 33:4 in my NCV Bible. “God’s true is true and everything he does is right.” I didn’t know as much about the Bible as I do today, but even with my limited knowledge, I simply believed what that verse said. God’s Word is true, and everything he does is right.
God is faithful to stay true to His Word. Proverbs 30:5: “Every word of God is proves true. he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” However we are given a warning in verse 6. “Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you and you be found a liar.” Other translations are worded differently but the meaning is the same. His warning is self-explanatory, so further comments needed from me.
Today, my Bible of choice is the Modern English Version (MEV), with words that are similar to the King James Version without words like thee, thy, and thou.
Let’s deliver into the Bible further and find more verses that speak of God’s Word being true.
God never changes. It says in Psalm 119:89, “Forever, O Lord, Your word is established in heaven.”
Then we read in Hebrews 13:8 that Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.” Imagine, forever, that’s from now into eternity.
We see the word forever again in Psalm 37:18: “The Lord knows the days of people of integrity, and their inheritance shall be forever.”
From the Scriptures we discover God’s Word is true and everything he does is right; God’s Word is forever established in heaven; Jesus Christ is the same; yesterday, today, and tomorrow. God knows the people of integrity; and their inheritance shall be forever. What does this all mean?
With the Word of God settled in heaven; those whom are saved and born again enter into a new life with Jesus, and receive an inheritance in heaven forever. Regardless of what’s happening in the world around them; God’s Word is true and He will do as He says. God cannot lie. This is confirmed in Numbers 23: 19: “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He spoken, and will He not do it. Or has He spoken, and will be not make it good.”
I love what Jesus says in Matthew 24:35. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.” His same promise is found in Mark 13:31, and Luke 21:33.
I pray as you read today’s message, that you will have a hunger for God’s Word and discover His truths for yourself. His truths about deliverance, healing, protection, provision, wisdom, and so much more. That God will show Himself strong on your behalf; that He will open your eyes to see, your ears to hear, and your mind to comprehend and understand what is told about Him in the Bible. That your life will be forever changed because of the truths discovered in the Bible about your heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
