Encourage Someone Today

Version 1.0.0

This is the first month of a brand new year. We don’t know what 2025 will bring, but we do know that God is forever faithful, and He will never leave or abandon us. That alone should give us encouragement to face each day.

Yet, we have days when we get discouraged, or lose hope that circumstances will never change. Thank God for the Bible, it has the answer to every problem we’ll ever face. Encouragement is found throughout this amazing Book.

The Lord brought to my mind Hebrews 4:13 that says we’re to encourage one another daily while it is called “Today”. The timeframe is very specific, today. Is there someone in your life who needs to be encouraged today? Maybe it’s you, if so, I pray these verses touch your heart and mind, and give you peace.

I included some of my favorite Bible verses that encourage me in my walk with God. The majority are taken from the Modern English Version, the one I currently use on a regular basis.

Isaiah 41:10 – “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Did you notice God’s promises? I will … in this verse? I prayed this verse often over my aging mother and uncle, to encourage them, to let them know they were not alone, that God was with them, He would help them, and give strength in their times of need.

Philippians 4:6–7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with gratitude, make your requests known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will protect your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The God of the Universe is telling us not to be anxious for nothing. Not to worry. Instead we’re to pray and give thanks to God for answering our prayers, as we bring everything that concerns to Him. And I love how it describes the peace of God, makes me calm just thinking about it.

 Psalm 34:19

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Life brings us all kinds of afflictions (trials) but it’s encouraging to know that the Lord will deliver us out of them all. Yes, it does say all. Jesus does not only have the answer, He is the answer. He will deliver us from our afflictions, in His time and way not ours. And whatever way He chooses, will far exceed anything we could ever do ourselves.

 Romans 8:28

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.

A family member recently shared he had an issue at work he was concerned about. My husband wanted to encourage him and said, “God will work it all out son.” The next day he called to say all was well. God is so good, thank you Lord!

Deuteronomy 31:3

Be strong and of good courage. Fear not, nor be afraid of them, for the Lord your God, it is He who goes with you. He will not fail you, nor forsake you.

Years ago, I was scheduled to go on a mission trip to Haiti. I was both excited and fearful knowing I was travelling to third-world country. Close to the day of departure, I opened my Bible and came across this verse. It greatly encouraged me. God was going with me; the best travelling companion I could ever have. Be encouraged – God is always with us!

 Matthew 6:34 New International Version

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

This verse encourages us to live one day at a time.  My prayer to God is this: “Lord, yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not here yet; give us the grace and strength to get through this day. Amen.” And He will do just that!

Proverbs 16:3 New Century Version

Depend on the Lord for whatever you do and your plans will succeed.

This verse is my ultimate favorite. It’s encouraging to know that if we depend upon the Lord for whatever we plan to do, He will enable us to have success. With God, all things are possible. Hallelujah!

Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Yes, hope is a powerful force. Without hope, faith doesn’t work. Hope enables us to trust God for what we’re believing for. Hope encourages us not to give up. Hope helps develop patience, with the confidence expectation that God will come through for us. And He’s always on time. Never too early or too late

The Bible is filled with verse that give encouragement. I invite you to seek them out for yourself. God’s love for us is so great, it’s hard to fathom, but it’s true because His Word says so.

May God greatly bless you in 2025 and fill your life with love, joy, hope and peace. Let’s encourage someone while it is still today!
