Psalm 127:3 says, “children are a gift from the Lord.” I’m grateful and thankful for His gift of two lovely daughters, that I was the one He selected to be their mother.
God looks down from heaven and chooses men and women to become parents. God even provides a Book filled with promises to teach parents how to raise children. Some embrace the teachings in the Book while others choose not to, preferring to do thing their way. The Book is always near should they ever change their minds.
We love our children but God loves them more. That’s hard to fathom, but He really does. He had plans for them before they were even born, and ones far better than we could ever imagine. I love the quote by Kate Douglas Wiggin: “Every child born into the world is a new thought of God, an ever fresh and radiant possibility.”
God provides children with earthly parents, but He longs to be a heavenly Father to them. And no matter what age, race, or color, He will love them all the same. It’s like they’re all His favorite.
My life changed drastically when I invited the Lord into my heart. He became my heavenly Father and I, His beloved child. I’m adopted into His big family, and there’s always room for more. No one is ever turned away. My life is filled with many brothers and sisters in Christ; each one a gift from the Lord.
Thank You Lord for the gift of children, and the delight they bring into our lives. Thank You for my brothers and sisters in Christ; all gifts from You to enhance and bless my life. And I thank You Lord for being a good heavenly Father to me, and all Your children.
