The Lord’s Gift Of Today

When we woke up this morning, the Lord gave us the gift of today. We must be grateful for it; not everyone received it. What does the Bible say about “today”?

In Matthew 6:34, Jesus said, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” So true isn’t it? That’s why I begin my day with,  “ Lord, yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not here yet; give me the wisdom and strength to get through this day!”

We read in 2 Corinthians 6:2, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.”  Hebrews 3:13 elaborates further, “But exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today”, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”

Could today be the right time to receive God’s gift of salvation? Imagine receiving such a gift; to be saved from your sins by the power of Jesus Christ, and eternal life because you accepted this gift. Salvation benefits include healing, deliverance, protection, provision and much more. I encourage you; if the Lord spoke to you concerning salvation, don’t harden your heart by ignoring His Words. Listen to Him and follow through on what He is asking.

Psalm 118:24 says, “Today is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Yes; we can choose to rejoice and live for today. Aim to be more like Apostle Paul; he chose to forget the past and press forward onto what was ahead of him, VICTORY. Regardless of our past failures and missed opportunities – we never have to live in regret.

Today is a gift from the Lord. God who created us, can recreate our destinies. He can change our lives and those of our families in a moment. No matter what we’ve done; whether it’s recent or long ago, God is so merciful. Let’s choose to walk by faith that God will change the circumstances in our lives and family. Let’s say in faith, “God, I know you’re doing something good in my life and that of my family.” Be prepared to receive something good from the Lord today!

Thank you Lord for the gift of today and all its possibilities. I come before You with expectancy – something good is happening in my life and family. Amen
