No matter how complex a problem is, we must never give up. There are countless of stories in the Bible where God “suddenly” appeared and everything changed within 24 hours. In 2 Kings, chapter 7, is the story of four leapers living when a great famine was in the land. Instead of sitting around feeling sorry for themselves and waiting to die; they arose and went into the enemy’s camp, regardless of what awaited them. Can you image their surprise, to find it abandoned! What happened? The angels of God frightened away all the warriors, leaving behind their animals, possessions, and enough food to feed all of Samaria. The lepers were overjoyed, and shared the news with the gatekeepers of the city who passed it on to the king. I encourage you to read the story in its entirety.
What can we learn from this Bible story? For starters; the Lord chose unlikely people, four leapers, to save the people from starvation. And God did it in one day. Yes, with God all things are truly possible.
How better our lives would be if we focused our attention on God and not our problems. I love what is written in Psalm 34:17 & 19: ‘The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.” “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all.” These are to great verses to memorize. When insurmountable problems arise; these verses remind us that God will work everything out for our good. He knows the best method to get it resolved.
Another great verse to memorize is Psalm 55:22: “Cast your burdens on the Lord, and He will sustain you, He will never allow the righteous to be moved.” It’s so wonderful to know that we don’t have to struggle and strive to solve our own problems, because God will gladly take them from us.
The Bible is filled with promises from God that cover every situation we may encounter. God says in His Word: “I will heal”; “I will help”; “I will provide”; “I will protect”; “I will give wisdom”. Do you feel encouraged knowing that what is impossible for man is possible for God?
The Bible is a book authored by God. All the words in it are true. When I read His promises that I’ve underlined in my Bible; I stand on those promises because He said them, that they will come to pass in His time and way.
