God Knew Us Before We Were Born!

We learn a great deal about God from reading the Book of Psalms. It’s hard to fathom that He knew us before we were born; yet that’s what we’re told in Psalms 139: 13-16. Psalm 139 was written by King David; a man after God’s own heart. In this Psalm, David opens our eyes and understanding of the greatness of God and His love for humanity.

“For you created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depth of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

David acknowledges these truths about God concerning himself. The Bible tells us; God is no respecter of persons, so these truths include us, and the children yet to be born. How amazing is that?

In Jeremiah 29:11 we read, “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

As I read through Psalm 139-13-16, and Jeremiah 29:11; I’m reminded of the aborted children around the world, millions of them. They will never get a chance to discover what God’s plans were for their lives. Proverbs 6:16 says there are six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him. One is found in Proverbs 16:17, “hands that shed innocent blood.” Abortion regardless of the reason was never God’s plan for these children. It is comforting to know that these children are in heaven, where they will spend eternity with their heavenly Father.

Every child is precious in the eyes of the Lord. No matter how old we are; we’re still God’s kids; and His plans for us have never changed. If He knew us before we were born; He knows what plans are yet to be fulfilled. With God; age has no limit. It’s never too late to seek the Lord, and discover the plans He has for our lives. We may be pleasantly surprised by what comes forth. We can rest assured, any plans that comes from God will be good!
