God Is Able

Years ago, a co-worker gave me a mug with the verse from 2 Corinthians 9:8 on the front. I treasure this mug as the gift reminds me that God is able, and He has proven time and time again that His Word is true.

When you read 2 Corinthians 9:8, take notice of four key words that stand out: all, always, abundance, and every. This verse speaks volumes.

God has great plans for our lives and we can count on Him to provide the ways and means to get those plans accomplished. God is more than able. The Bible confirms it. The Lord said to Moses, “Is the hand of the Lord shortened? (Numbers 11:23). “But my God will supply your every need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19). Our every need – finances, wisdom, ability, strength – all come from the Lord. It says in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengths me.” Again all covers anything and everything.

Yes, Lord, You are more than able. Help me to accomplish all You plan to do through me.  I am one of Your chosen servants. Bless me Lord this day to do Your will, to be obedient in stepping forward, no matter what You are calling me to do.

Because You are able, I can put my trust in You.
