One day a friend asked for prayer concerning her son. After we prayed, I told her, “Don’t worry, God has him in the palm of His hand.” With a puzzled look, she asked, “What do you mean?”
I explained by saying, “God is concerned about your son. He knows exactly what needs to be done to help him.” She said, “I’m worried about his safety.” I smiled and patted her arm, “”There’s no safer place than in the palm of God’s hand. He’s well protected there.” Her countenance changed as she breathed a sigh of relief. “My son is in the palm of God’s hand, he’ll be okay.” Her son continued to have trials, but each time the Lord brought him through. And He will do the same for us. He is no respecter of persons, He loves us all the same.
We are living in perilous times. When we get up in the morning, we don’t know what the day holds. The God we serve, sees and knows all. Nothing escapes Him. And there’s no need to be afraid, regardless of what’s happening around us. He gave us His promise that He’s never leave us or forsake us ever. Let’s read what Scripture say about God’s mighty hands.
Psalm 18:35: You give me your shield of victory and Your right hand sustains me; You stop down to make me great.
Not only does His right hand sustain us; He’s stoop down to make us great. What an awesome God we serve.
Isaiah 41:10 is one of my favorites: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
This verse gives me great comfort. I prayed it often over my aging mother and uncle; who were battling cancer and losing their independence as a result of it. I wanted them to know God was with them, despite the struggles they were facing.
Psalm 37:23-24: If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.
The Lord knows we’re not perfect, and sometimes we fall short. The Lord will not allow us to fall completely, He will hold us up with His hand. He will give us an opportunity to try again, to do better next time. He’s so gracious and full of mercy, He wants us to succeed in every area of our lives.
Psalm 139:9-10: If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.
No matter when we go, God is always with us. His right hand is always guiding us. He is our Compass, we will never get lost when we keep our eyes focused on the Lord, and be obedient to follow His directions.
Isaiah 49:16: See, I have engraved you on the psalms of My hands; your walls are ever before Me.
Can you envision the size of the Lord’s hands? Hard to fathom isn’t it? Yet; God is able to engrave all our names in His psalms. Yes; God is able, and can do what is impossible for man. We must never forget this!
Today and in the ones to come; remember; God has our names engraved in the palms of His hands. He loves His children, and He promises that no one will snatch them out of His Hands.
Anne, a great reminder of how God loves and keeps us!
