Do You Consider Yourself A Person Of Integrity?

This Blog post is taken from my God Said, “I WILL” Promise Book. It speaks of the importance of having integrity in our Christian walk.

Integrity is a part of our character and is best known by three behaviors: Telling the truth; Keeping one’s promises; Taking responsibility for one’s behavior.

Do you consider yourself a person of integrity?

It’s a quality we as Christians strive to attain but sometimes fall short. For example; we make a commitment to attend an event with someone, then change our mind at the last minute and not go. We come up with some lame excuse, and not give much thought or consideration to the person who has to go alone or find someone else at the last minute. How important is it that we honor our word?

If we’re to be like Jesus, we’re people of integrity. We’re dependable, loyal, and trust-worthy. People can count on us to do what we say we’re going to do. When employed, our bosses can count on us to show up on time and do the assigned work to the best of our ability. The Bible says, whatever work we do, should be done as if doing it for the Lord. Genesis 31:30 says, “Remember God is our witness even if no one else is around.” No; we can’t see Him, but God is always there, overseeing all that is being done. If we run into difficulty, He can be counted on to help, all we have to do is ask.

Lord, I want others to see me as a person of integrity. One who is dependable, loyal, and trustworthy, and I know You will honor my efforts to live this out in my daily life.

 Scriptural Promises – Integrity

God forbid that I should justify you. Until I die I will not put away my integrity from me. My righteousness I hold fast and will not let it go, my heart will not reproach me as long I live.

JOB 27:5–6 MEV

The Lord will judge the peoples; grant me justice, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity within me.

PSALM 7:8 MEV

Truth and integrity will preserve me while I wait on You.

PSALM 25:21 MEV

Do not gather my soul with sinners, nor my life with murderers, in whose hands is wickedness, and their right hand is full of bribes. But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; redeem me and be gracious to me.

PSALM 26:9–11 MEV

The Lord knows the days of people of integrity, and their inheritance will be forever. They will not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they will be satisfied.

PROVERBS 10:9 NCV

The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perverseness of transgressors will destroy them.

PROVERBS 11:3 MEV

He who walks righteously and speaks what is right, who rejects gain from extortion and keeps his hand from accepting bribes, who stops his ears against plots of murder and shuts his eyes against contemplating evil – this is the man who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. His bread will be supplied, and water will not fail him.

Isaiah 33:15-16 NIV
