We must never underestimate the power in intercessory prayer. It will change circumstances and influence a change in people’s lives. It can change the hearts and minds of leaders, those who have authority over us in all levels of government. How amazing is that?
The people we’re interceding for may not even know God. That should never stop us. We’re going before God with our faith, with the belief of what’s written in James 5:16, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much.” We pray with the belief that through God all things are possible. Multitudes of testimony stories prove this to be true. God is no respecter of persons, it could be our prayer of intercession that brings forth the much needed miracle in someone’s life.
The Bible teaches that sin will hinder our prayer life. We must come before God with a pure heart, and repent of any thoughts, words, or deeds that are displeasing to Him. We can receive His forgiveness, and come boldly to His throne of grace with our intercessory prayer request. As we pray, we can thank Him for everything He’s done in our lives. And we can praise Him for being such a good heavenly Father. He knows the desires of our heart, and the answer to our intercessory prayer will come in His time and way. We can trust Him to provide whatever is necessary to change the lives and circumstances of the ones we’re praying for.
Thank you Lord for hearing the intercessory prayers that I bring forth on behalf of others. I can trust You to answer in Your time and way. And I thank you today for answering the prayers of those who interceded for me. Intercessory prayer is a powerful force and I’m living proof of it. Amen
