I’m a proud Canadian and it breaks my hearts to see what is happening in our beloved country. What is occurring right now goes against God’s plan for this country, and the people who live within all 10 provinces and 2 territories. I chose not to say anything about the leaders; I rather focus my attention on God. He is in control. He sees all, nothing escapes His eyes. It says in Isaiah 55:8 that God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours. We know this to be true.
The Canadian Charter of Rights is mounted on the wall in my home office. Part of the wording includes: Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rules of law.
What is the supremacy of God? My research led me to I Chronicles 29:11-12.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power,
and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty,
for everything in the heavens and the earth is Yours.
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
and You exalt Yourself as head above all.
Riches and honor flow from You,
and You rule over all.
In Your hand are power and might,
and in Your hand it is to make great and to strengthen all.
So now, our God, we give thanks to You,
and praise Your glorious name.
I found great comfort by reading this Scripture passage. I pray you did as well. Do some of the words in these verses sounds familiar? You’ll find them in the ending of the Lord’s Prayer found in Matthew 6:13: For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
Psalm 33:12 says: “Blessed is the nation whose God is Lord, the people Whom He has chosen as His inheritance.” I was happy to find a scripture image for this verse, one that included a Canadian maple leaf symbol. I encourage you to declare this Scripture verse out loud; adding the word, Canada, after nation.
Canada needs our prayers. James 5:16 in the New Century Version says, “When believing persons pray, great things happen.” We must never not praying, God will answer in His time and way.
The following Scripture verses can also be prayed out loud. Canada has been added in brackets for emphasis, to personalize the verses.
Redeem Israel (Canada), O God, out of their troubles. Psalm 25:32
May God be gracious to us, and bless us, and cause His face to shine on us, that Your way may be on known on the earth, Your salvation among all nations, (Canada). Psalm 67:1-2
Restore us (Canada) again, O God of Hosts, and cause Your face to shine, and we shall be delivered. Psalm 80:3.
Save us (Canada), O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, to give thanks unto Your holy name and to boast in Your praise. Psalms 106:47
God knows all things, mankind does not. No matter how intelligent we are, our understanding, knowledge, and wisdom is limited when compared to God’s.
With that being said, trust in God is our only hope for Canada. I end this post declaring, blessed is the nation of Canada! I pray you stand in agreement with me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
