Why Is Worry Considered A Sin?

This Scripture verse  says we’re to seek God above all else, live righteously, and He will  provide everything we need. We’re also told why we’re not to worry about today or tomorrow. Faith says, “God will meet my needs.” Worry says, “I doubt God’s ability to take care of me.”

Why is worry considered a sin? Worry causes us to go against what Jesus preached concerning it. We wouldn’t purposefully call God a liar; yet when we worry it’s like we’re telling Him through doubt and unbelief that He’s not able to meet our needs. Like any other sin; we need to repent and ask God for forgiveness, knowing He will do it.

God’s love is so great. He doesn’t want us to worry about anything. Psalm 55:22 says, “Give your worries to the Lord. He’ll take care of you. He will never let good people down.” A wonderful promise and one God will not fail to keep. We may not understand how He’s going to come through but we can trust He will, in His time and way. We can rest assured He will gladly take our worries from us and fill our minds with peace.

Lord, please forgive me for all the times I’ve worried. Instead of worrying, I’ll give all my cares and concerns over to You, knowing everything will work out in Your time and way.
