The Bible says we reap what we sow. This also applies to God’s Word. How we hear God’s Word and act on it will determine the level of our harvest. Our results will be measured by the attention we give to what we hear God is saying to us.
It’s not the amount of God’s Word that determines our results; but the understanding or revelation received. Reading a few lines of Scripture with understanding causes us to delve deeper into God’s Word. He’s got our attention, which causes us to desire more of what He has to say. The more time we spent in God’s Word, the more He will speak to us.
We need to read our Bible with the belief and understanding that God speaks to us through His Word. Then we need to be intentional to obey and do what it says. The verse in Mark 4:24-25 says the closer we listen, the more understanding we’ll receive – even more. That’s every encouraging news. Not so for those who don’t listen to God’s teaching; they will reap a harvest of a different kind.
Thank you Lord for speaking to me through Your Word. The more time I sow into spending time with You, the greater harvest of understanding and revelation I’ll receive.
