We would have rather someone be our friend than our enemy. Yet, many situations arise where we are in the midst of a battle not of our choosing: The workplace, in family relationships, the criminal justice system, or possibly in the church.
Regardless of the situations we encounter, we’re encouraged not to take matters into our own hands. Instead, we’re to take them to the Lord. He loves justice and is willing to fight the battle on our behalf. The God of the universe wants to be our defense attorney, and He always wins.
People may appear to be our biggest enemy, but it’s satan we need to watch for. He will try to sabotage our church, marriage, family relationships, and others we are in contact with. He is the father of lies and his main purpose is to kill, steal, and destroy all the Lord promised in His Word. We can’t allow him to destroy what the Lord intended for good by causing us to become enemies with someone. If that has happened, we must pray for them and extend love and kindness. The Bible says we are to love our enemies. If Jesus was able to do it, we can too with His help.
Lord, Your Word says I am to love my enemies and show kindness to them. With Your help and guidance, I will be able to do it with sincerity.
Great topic and reminder Anne, thanks for your posts!
