Angels Harken To The Voice Of God’s Word

Psalm 103:20-21 KJV

When people ask me to pray for them, I encourage them by saying, “What concerns you, concerns God.” Yes; He’s concerned about every detail in our lives. My husband, Mike, recently found out how true this is.

Mike doesn’t wear his wedding ring to work due to safety issues. He’s a carpenter and a ring could easily get caught in something. The current job involved replacing a floor in a cottage damaged by severe flooding. The cottage was elevated 6 feet to avoid potential damage from future floods. Work was done under there too. While using a sledgehammer, Mike realized he had his wedding ring on. He quickly removed it and tucked it inside his wallet for safe keeping.

He came home from work, had a shower and changed his clothes. When he went to get his ring from his wallet, it wasn’t there. Thinking it fell out of his wallet when he changed his clothes, we began a frantic search around the house. No ring was found.

Mike was distraught at the thought of losing his wedding ring. It had sentimental value to both of us. While in palliative care, my elderly Uncle Raymond gave it to me as a keepsake. I kept it in my jewelry box. A year later Mike and I met and fell in love. When we planned our wedding, I showed him the white-gold wedding band and it fit him perfectly.

At the job site the next morning, the hunt was on for the ring. Mike used a metal detector around the area where he put the ring in his wallet. Unfortunately, nothing but nails clung to it. The situation appeared hopeless.  He came home from work disappointed that he didn’t find his wedding band.

We believed the Lord knew where that ring was. Every morning before Mike leaves for work, we anoint one another with oil and pray. My prayer for him included, “What concerns you, concerns God.”

Mike arrived at the job site and searched again but found nothing. At the end of the work day, he had the inclination to go look one more time. The job was finished so they wouldn’t be back there again. He crouched down on his hands and knees, and swiped his hand through the sand. Suddenly, he called out “RING COME”. To his surprise and delight, his wedding ring came into view. He picked up the ring and placed it on his finger. Filled with joy, he quickly took a photo and send it to me.

Mike works with his two sons. They knew about the lost wedding ring, and witnessed the joy on their dad’s face when the ring was found. Was this a miracle? Yes, we believe it was. Some would consider it a sign, others a wonder.  Supernatural? Definitely.

We know what the Bible says about angels. Hebrews 1:14: Are they not all ministries spirits sent out to minister to those who will inherit salvation. Yes; God has angels, ministering spirits, assigned to watch over His children to work on their behalf. How do they work on our behalf? The answer is found in   Psalm 103:20 KJV: Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

The angels listen for faith-filled words. Not ones of unbelief. We believe when the angels heard Mike call out, “RING COME”, they immediately went to work on Mike’s behalf and brought the ring into view.

Testimony stories are powerful and they give others encouragement. God is no respecter of persons, what He does for one, He will do for another. Mike shared his testimony story at the Fredericton Word of Faith Family Church, and with family and friends. They listened with amazement in how God’s came through for Mike in his time of need.

Yes; it is true, what concerns us, concerns God. And angels do harken to the voice ofGod’s Word. This testimony story confirms it. Hallelujah!
