The Lord God Opened My Ear

God is so good, He will do what His Word says. He’s proven that to me time and time again. I’m 67 years old and I’ve been blessed with good health, and I don’t take it for granted. I do what I can to remain healthy; eat right, exercise, and get adequate sleep. For importantly; I take care of my spiritual health.

I have articles and books in my possession that are years old. They are still applicable for today because they were written based on God’s Word; and He never changes. He is the same: yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

One such article was written by Gloria Copeland for the February 1980 issue of Believer’s Voice of Victory magazine. She titled the article God’s Medicine, and opens with Proverbs 4:20-23, King James Version.

My Son, attend to my words; include thine ear into my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

I agree with what she says, “This is God’s prescription for life and health!”

A couple of months ago, I began having difficulty hearing out of my left ear. I kept waiting for it to pop but that didn’t happen. It was a challenge to sing at church on Sunday mornings, but I sang anyway. Talking on the phone was a challenge. I had to ensure the receiver was on my right ear. My husband found it challenging when sitting next to me. He often had to repeat what he said.

The pastor and the congregation prayed over me at church. Sometimes a healing is evident immediately. That was not the case for me.

God’s Word is filled with power. Isaiah 55:11 reminds us that His Word does not return void. It goes where He sends it, and succeeds in doing what He sends it to do. When we speak God’s Word out loud; it will do the same results.

Can you imagine my delight when I came across Isaiah 50:5; “The Lord God has opened my ear.” Hallelujah!

I grabbed hold of that verse and I began to thank the Lord for opening my left ear. Deuteronomy 34:7 says Moses was 120 and his vitality not diminished. I said, “Lord as You were with Moses, You are with me. My natural forces are not abated. Blessed are my ears for they hear.”

I believed the Lord would open my right ear. I just didn’t know when or how.

This past Sunday morning while in the shower, my ear slightly popped. I couldn’t wait to get to church and sing. Sure enough, my hearing in my right ear was fully restored. Praise the Lord!

I encourage you to take God’s Word as medicine. The Bible is filled with healing scriptures. Claim and speak them over yourself. God is no respecter of persons, what He did for me, He will do for another.
