Forgiveness will set us free from the pain and hurts caused by others. Sadly, many choose not to forgive, believing it’s not possible.
When tormenting memories surface of what was said or done, fuel is added to the fire of anger and resentment towards those whom wronged them. Eventually their own health deteriorates from not being able to forgive and let go. God does not want anyone to live that way.
Jesus said, “I will forgive their sins and remember them no more.” He wants us to extend the same grace and mercy to others. We choose whether to forgive someone or not. Making the choice to forgive and forget may be extremely difficult, but possible with the help of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.”
Imagine the freedom in letting go of what was said and done by others, and releasing them from the bondage of unforgiveness. Forgiveness will enable freedom, to move on in life and enjoy the blessings given by the Lord on a daily basis.
We commit a sin when we don’t forgive others. We should never allow it or any other sin to hinder our walk with God. He wants us to spend eternity with Him. When we choose to forgive others, He will fill our hearts and minds with love, joy, and peace.
Father, I come before you with a humble heart. Help me to forgive and forget the pains and hurts caused by others. I want to extend mercy and forgiveness to those who wronged me, so I can experience the freedom found in forgiveness, in Jesus’ name, amen.
Wise words from a wise woman, thanks for forgiving me my love!
Your doing a great job, keep it up!
Your comments are greatly welcomed. Marriage is a good teacher of forgiveness. May we always extend the grace and mercy
He extends to one another, and to all the other people He places in our lives. Jesus freely forgives – so can we!
